3. ORGANIZE YOURSELF

Now that you've communicated your needs to friends and family, it's time to get organized.

Think of planning a wedding as a series of building blocks. Some brides have a tendency to get caught up in the little details at the very beginning; favors, invitations and flowers.

To be truly organized, take care of these four basics first and in order.

  1. Lay the foundation (the budget). How much do you plan to spend?
  2. Fill the foundation (create a guest list). You can't select a location unless you know how many guests are attending.
  3. Set the date. Have two or three dates, actually. Your favorite wedding location may not be available on your first choice.
  4. Pick a location.

Okay. We're ready to start planning your wedding. Relax. You can do this. Enjoy!
